Meeting of High Level Representatives Preparatory to the 3rd Euro-African Ministerial Conference on Migration and Development

This meeting will take place under the co-presidency of Senegal and France, and is organised by the Support Project to the Rabat Process, which is implemented by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) and the International and Ibero-American Foundation for Public Administration and Public Policies (FIIAPP).

This meeting will feed into preparations for the Third Euro-African Ministerial Conference on Migration and Development, to be held in Dakar on November 23rd 2011. It shall focus on paving the way for the future declaration and cooperation programme to be adopted by the ministers in Dakar.

A new programme will set the priorities for the migration dialogue among the partner countries for the years 2012-2014. It will be based on the outcomes of the 2009-2011 cooperation programme adopted at the Paris Ministeral Conference in 2008 as well as the conclusions of several Expert’s Meetings which were organised between July 2010 and May 2011 and covered the following topics: vulnerable groups, social rights of migrants and their portability under a transnational framework, civil registry and document fraud.

National Focal Points, High Level Representatives and international and regional organisations responsible for Migration and Development issues in partner countries of the Euro-African Dialogue Process on Migration and Development are encouraged to attend the Paris meeting.
