Presentation of the Support Project activities
The aim of the Rabat Process is to set up a framework for dialogue and consultation that fosters the implementation of concrete and practical initiatives by its partner countries.
In order to achieve this objective, the Rabat Process creates an environment that facilitates a shared understanding of migration issues at both regional and national levels, together with the implementation of concerted and coordinated policies.
With this in mind, and based on the objectives laid down in the 2011 Dakar Strategy, the activities implemented by the Support Project during the third phase of the Process (2013-2015) focus on three areas of activity
It should be noted that these activities also include a communication strategy intended to promote active participation, renew interest, and create ownership of the project among the main stakeholders, particularly the national Focal Points, with a view to facilitating a long term impact of this consultation process.
In the context of these activities, emphasis has been placed on three priority themes, defined by the Steering Committee:
The use of data for evidence-based policy making (overarching theme)
Border management
Migration in crisis situations
